IMMEDIATE PERMANENT STAFF ROLE

We have at least, 1 position immediately available for the season for outdoor activity centre instructor/fishery staff member.  This role will be every second weekend and additional hours and days, on and off during the week.  Generally, a minimum of 24 hours per week.

This post will come with full access to the facilities in and out of work hours, including free C&R fly fishing and use of all activities.  Holiday pay as per Government guidance, will also be available.

ACTIVITY INSTRUCTORS

We have numerous vacancies for our bank group of activity instructors for onsite and offsite activities including axe-throwing, air rifle shooting, laser clay pigeon shooting, archery, golf chipping, indoor putting, highland games, etc.

Instructors will be self-employed and will sit on a WhatsApp group for periodic work, as and when required, as the jobs are available.  Hourly rate will also be £11 per hour.  Fuel allowances are available for this role and full training can be given at the centre for interested persons.

The position of Activities Instructor will be based at Kinross Trout Fishery & Activity Centre, Heatheryford Country Estate, Kinross, which is on the edge of the village directly across from BP Services.
 
The key role of the Instructor is to keep updated, as to bookings, and prepare and maintain activities areas, equipment and record and report all issues directly to onsite supervision with regards to the activities. Further to this they will meet and greet clients, deliver safety and information briefings before escorting them for the activity in question.
 
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in all weathers outdoors, sometimes long hours and would benefit from having transport or being local to the centre. All age brackets will be considered,  however you should be physically fit and be able to adjust to all customer needs.
 
Emergency First Aid certificate holders are of particular interest.
Air rifle licence holders will also be of interest with the rifle range being very busy. Instructor qualifications are available for the right candidate.
 
General maintenance of the ground such as grass cutting, strimming, shrub/tree pruning and maintenance and cleaning of the activity sheds will be the main role when not taking activities.
 
Initially the role will be based every alternative Saturday and Sunday however flexible working is essential due to the nature of the position and the hours will increase as clients do especially in the summer and holiday periods.
 
Using the facilities and equipment when no clients are in is essential to maintain the staffs skill base and knowledge and with this in mind Instructors formal accredited courses will be made available as COVID restrictions and time allows.
 
Free use of the facilities when off-duty with 1 guest per week will be also available on each activity when no bookings are in. Year end performance bonuses are available.
 
The staff will also assist in the shop and reception for the trout fishery and training will be provided for all responsibilities as well as, how to complete risk assessments, method statements, incident investigation, CV creating as well as book keeping and sales in relation to all fishery management.
 
References will be required and staff must gain full disclosure prior to employment as we work closely with children, young persons and vulnerable customers.  The PVG Disclosure approval will be at the staff’s own expense to secure the post and will be paid back after 6 months in the role.
Immediate permanent staff role position will have holidays paid as per legal employment requires although pensions will be opted out. Holidays will not be allowed during school leave periods.

We have ongoing positions currently available for  outdoor activity centre instructors/ fishery staff.
 
The job role is to assist whenever possible at the Outdoor Centre and Fishery.  Manning the permit hut, carrying out light jobs around the grounds such as strimming, grass-cutting, etc.  In addition qualifications and training can be provided, should you wish to assist as an Instructor in the Activity Centre.
 
We currently have two voluntary staff and are looking to create a ‘bank’ of volunteers to join the team.

There is approximately a three year waiting list for Membership at the Fishery, which costs £500.  In exchange for your volunteering (a minimum of 1 day per week) you will be provided with a uniform and full protective clothing, as well as being trained in all aspects of Fishery Management.  With regards to our Activity Centre, joining the team also means you will receive unlimited access to all activities including one guest per week, whilst not on duty.
